In Kabul, our surgeons have been working non-stop for the past 24 hours

Kabul ERLast night was an intense one at our hospital in Kabul: at about 4 o’clock, 13 patients came in within the space of just a few minutes, all of them male adults wounded by a grenade while they were celebrating at a wedding in Charikar. Another two people injured in the same attack were taken to our hospital in Anabah, in the Panjshir Valley.

Our Kabul hospital is full, and our surgical team has been working practically non-stop for 24 hours: yesterday alone, 35 patients arrived – 28 of them hospitalized and operated on.

Twenty more people have already arrived this morning, the victims of an attack in Kabul against one of the presidential candidates; 2 of them were already dead when they arrived, while the other 18 are about to enter the operating room.

The war in Afghanistan goes on, and we go on treating the wounded.
