Health education in Port Sudan

This is Madina, our Health Promoter in Port Sudan where we recently launched an outreach program. Every week, she travels to various communities in the area to offer hygiene and health education as well as preventive activities aimed at women and children. She explains how to minimize the risk of getting malaria and other infectious diseases, gives advice about vaccinations and a healthy diet, monitors the health condition of local children and, when necessary, sends them to our Pediatric Centre in the city.

PORT-SUDAN-OUTREACH

Madina is a Sudanese woman who has been specifically trained by EMERGENCY. She joins fellow Health Promoters working at the Pediatric Centre in Mayo, a refugee camp near the capital city of Khartoum, whose recognizable red t-shirts bring appreciation from surrounding community members.
