Rossella explains the award-winning collaboration between EMERGENCY and TAM

EMERGENCY has collaborated with Italian architecture firm TAMassociati for many years to produce hospitals, which serve as sustainable, beautiful oases in the middle of war-torn nations. The collaboration received the 2013 Curry Stone Design Prize for innovative, socially-responsible design.

The Curry Stone Award ceremony, held in San Francisco, featured 2013 prize-winners speaking about the motivation behind each awe-inspiring project. Following a brief video highlighting the collaborative process, Rossella Miccio, EMERGENCY Humanitarian Coordinator, and Raul Pantaleo, co-founder of TAMassociati, accepted the design prize.

The video below shows the acceptance speech, in which Rossella explains the importance of high-quality, dignified health care as a basic human right.
