EMERGENCY has collaborated with Italian architecture firm TAMassociati for many years to produce hospitals, which serve as sustainable, beautiful oases in the middle of war-torn nations. The collaboration received the 2013 Curry Stone Design Prize for innovative, socially-responsible design.
The Curry Stone Award ceremony, held in San Francisco, featured 2013 prize-winners speaking about the motivation behind each awe-inspiring project. Following a brief video highlighting the collaborative process, Rossella Miccio, EMERGENCY Humanitarian Coordinator, and Raul Pantaleo, co-founder of TAMassociati, accepted the design prize.
