Car Laden with Explosives Results in More Patients at Our Lashkar-gah Hospital

At about 11 o’clock Wednesday, October 8th, a car laden with explosives was driven straight towards the house where the head of the Naw Zad police was staying during his visit to Lashkar-gah, Afghanistan.

The explosion was so strong that even our EMERGENCY staff heard it from the hospital. The 22 people wounded by the explosives were all brought to our facilities.

Five of them were already dead on arrival. One child was in a very serious condition and didn’t survive the surgical operation. A man died in intensive care.

Our staff will be working non-stop in the operating theatre all day to help the other 15 casualties that still need treatment.
