Iye is a recent survivor who left our Ebola Treatment Center in Lakka, Sierra Leone last Sunday. Iye is 74 years old—which is an achievement in itself in a country where the life expectancy is 46 years—and did not let her age slow her down in her battle with Ebola.
She left our Center thanking us for the free-of-charge care we provided and the discharge pack of rice, beans, flour and oil that we give to all the patients who leave our Center to help them recuperate after the illness.
Iye, 74, is Ebola-free
The number of Ebola cases world wide has now exceeded 10,000. We must treasure every single one of these recoveries while the long and dangerous battle continues.
