Health Sciences Building, T-435
University of Washington
Join us in Seattle on Wednesday, February 4th, for a screening of the 2013 Academy Award nominated short documentary Open Heart. Open Heart tells the story of eight Rwandan children who leave their families behind and embark on a life-or-death journey to receive high-risk open-heart surgery in Africa’s only free-of-charge, state-of-the-art cardiac hospital, our Salam Center for Cardiac Surgery in Khartoum, Sudan. A discussion with EMERGENCY USA Seattle Volunteer Coordinator Ed Digilio and Kyler Hunter will follow the screening. Kyler is a perfusionist whose work at the Salam Center was featured in a 60 Minutes special on the hospital.
